‘Sing and make Music from your Heart to the Lord’ Ephesians 5:19

Here at St. Vincent’s we hope to begin to encourage a lifelong love of Music through our curriculum Music teaching and extra-curricular Music opportunities.

Music is a unique and valuable medium that can help improve children’s confidence and resilience and helps to develop communication and social interaction skills.

Through our Music curriculum we hope that our children will gain a secure understanding of what Music is through listening, singing, playing, evaluating, analysing and composing across a wide variety of styles, traditions and eras.

Through extra-curricular activities the children have opportunities to learn to play a musical instrument with the Rochdale Music service and join the school choir who have had many opportunities to perform in the wider community.

“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to your mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” Plato

Our Music Subject Leader is Mrs J. Pointon.
