Headteacher’s response to pupil survey
Thank you to the 181 pupils who shared their views about life at St Vincent’s. Listening to our children helps us understand what we are doing well and where we can make school even better.
There is much to celebrate. 95% of pupils would recommend our school to a friend, while 94% say their teachers help them to do their best and provide work that challenges them. It is particularly encouraging that 98% feel encouraged to be tolerant and respectful of all people, and 96% feel encouraged to be independent and take on responsibilities. These responses reflect our Catholic values and our commitment to helping children grow into confident, caring individuals.
Pupils also recognise the support provided for their physical health and emotional wellbeing. 92% say there is an adult they can talk to if they are worried, and 93% give positive responses about others’ behaviour and how bullying is dealt with.
However, we want these positive experiences to be shared by every child. Although 89% of pupils say they feel safe, we will listen carefully to understand where and when any children feel less secure. We will reinforce how pupils can ask for help and ensure they know their concerns will be taken seriously.
A key priority is understanding why 72% enjoy school all or most of the time. We will explore this further through pupil discussions, asking what helps children enjoy learning and what could improve their experience, including at playtimes and lunchtimes.
We will also explore how to make activities beyond lessons accessible and appealing to more pupils, building on the 84% who already participate. With 83% enjoying assemblies, hymns, prayers and RE, we will seek children’s ideas about making these experiences even more engaging and meaningful.
We will share this feedback with staff and use it to guide improvements. Thank you, children, for your honesty and thoughtful contributions. Your voices matter, and we will keep listening.

Headteacher’s Response to Parent Survey
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all 118 parents and carers who took the time to complete our recent parent survey. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us continue to build a happy, safe, and successful school community.
I am delighted that an overwhelming majority of parents feel their child is happy and safe at our school (97% and 96% respectively), and that a similar number agree their child does well here. These results reflect the strong relationships between pupils, staff, and families, and our shared commitment to ensuring every child enjoys coming to school and reaches their full potential.
It is also very encouraging to see that 89% of parents believe we have high expectations for all pupils and that 89% feel pupils are well behaved. This demonstrates the positive learning culture we are nurturing together.
I am pleased that the majority of families feel well informed about their child’s progress and that 83% recognise our support for pupils’ personal development. I also appreciate the positive feedback about the range of after-school clubs and activities (84%), which help to enrich the school experience for our pupils.
While the feedback is overwhelmingly positive, I am also listening carefully to areas where we can improve further. I recognise that communication about our children’s personal development is an area we can strengthen. I will review how we share information on our personal development curriculum and offer to ensure parents feel fully informed and involved.
It is particularly reassuring that 90% of parents feel the school deals with concerns properly and 93% agree that bullying is dealt with effectively. We will continue to focus on maintaining high standards of care and transparency in these important areas.
Finally, we are very proud that 88% of parents would recommend our school to others — a clear sign of your confidence in the education and support we provide.
