At St Vincent’s Primary School, we are committed to fostering a vibrant Physical Education programme that embodies our Catholic faith and nurtures the holistic development of every child from Reception to Year 6. Using the EdStart curriculum from Reception to Year 6, we are dedicated to offering an exciting and inclusive PE programme that meets the needs of all our students. The children will develop fundamental movement skills, become increasingly confident and competent and access a broad range of opportunities to extend their ability, balance and coordination individually and with others.

Our curriculum promotes not only physical fitness but also social and emotional well-being. We aim to instil a passion for active living through engaging and inclusive activities, enabling pupils to develop their skills, confidence, and resilience. Our planning prioritises the importance of fitness and aims to develop lifelong learners who are knowledgeable and aware of their own well-being, social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs. Through innovative teaching methods, we encourage a spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for others. Our curriculum incorporates regular assessments that inform our practice and help us to celebrate individual progress, ensuring that every child understands the importance of perseverance and dedication in achieving their personal best.

We believe that PE is crucial for developing lifelong habits of health and fitness, and our vision is to create an environment where every child feels valued, inspired, and empowered to embrace a physically active lifestyle founded upon the principles of the Catholic faith.

Our PE Subject Leader is Mrs C. Stott.
