At St Vincent’s, we are proud to provide meaningful opportunities for our children to grow as leaders, living out their faith and values through service to others. Our Pupil Leadership Teams include the GIFT Team (Growing In Faith Together), the Laudato Si Team, the Digital Leaders, the School Council, the Librarians, the British Values Ambassadors and the Wellbeing Ambassadors. Each team plays an important role in shaping our school community.

Through these teams, our children learn that leadership is about serving others, listening well, and making a difference. At St Vincent’s, we are proud of the way our pupils lead with compassion, courage, and joy.

Our Pupil Leadership Teams

The GIFT Team plays a vital role in leading the school community by following the example of Jesus. Each day, its members strive to live out the Gospel values and inspire others to do the same. Being part of the GIFT Team is both a meaningful and rewarding responsibility.

These are some of the meaningful roles our GIFT Team takes on within our school:

  • Helping to plan and lead school liturgies, assemblies, and collective worship

  • Supporting the celebration of key events in the liturgical calendar (e.g. Advent, Lent, Easter)

  • Promoting acts of kindness, service, and social justice based on Catholic teachings

  • Encouraging fellow pupils to reflect on their faith and live it out in daily life

  • Serving as role models of Christian living and discipleship

  • Helping to maintain sacred spaces such as prayer tables and displays

The GIFT Team fosters a sense of community and shared purpose, helping everyone in the school to grow in faith together.

At our school, the Laudato Si’ Team helps us live out Pope Francis’ call to care for our common home. Inspired by the teachings of Laudato Si’, the team leads the way in promoting environmental awareness, sustainability, and a deeper appreciation of God’s creation.

They take on a variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Organising eco-friendly initiatives such as recycling, energy-saving campaigns, and litter picking

  • Caring for our school grounds through gardening and maintaining green spaces

  • Leading prayers, reflections, and assemblies focused on caring for the Earth

  • Encouraging others to make simple, positive choices that protect the environment

  • Helping the whole school community understand that caring for creation is an important part of our Catholic faith

Through their actions and example, the Laudato Si’ Team helps us all become better stewards of God’s world.

The school council at St Vincent De Paul actively embodies Catholic Social Teaching by promoting the dignity of every person and the importance of solidarity through their involvement in campaigns like ‘Send my Friend to School’ and ‘Step up to the Plate.’ By advocating for global education and tackling food insecurity, they put faith into action, standing up for justice and the common good. Their efforts show a deep commitment to caring for the most vulnerable and being a voice for those who are unheard.

Digital Leaders play an important role in supporting the development of computing across the school. These pupils are chosen for their enthusiasm and skills in technology and work alongside teachers to help promote the safe, confident, and creative use of digital tools. Whether it’s helping with computing lessons, setting up equipment, or promoting online safety, our Digital Leaders are always ready to assist and inspire others.

Our Wellbeing Ambassadors are pupils who help promote a positive, caring, and inclusive environment across the school. They support the emotional wellbeing of their peers by offering a friendly face, encouraging kindness, and helping others feel safe and valued. Working alongside staff, they help lead initiatives that support mental health, friendship, and a strong sense of community.

At St Vincent’s, we celebrate British Values on a half termly basis. The British Values Ambassadors have created a half-termly newsletter to share the work that pupils across the school have been doing to promote the Fundamental British Values. Librarians are pupils who help promote a love of reading throughout the school. They take care of the library space, organise books, and support other children in choosing stories that spark their interest. By encouraging good reading habits and helping to keep the library a welcoming and tidy place, our librarians play an important role in building a strong reading culture in our school.
