Today marks the beginning of an exciting week long collaboration with United Utilities on a fully funded Rainwater Capture Project.
Work will take place at the front of the school, where rainwater will be redirected into a series of planters to reduce runoff into the main sewer system.
Over the weekend, two tree pits will be installed in the playground, with drainage systems rerouted to supply them with rainwater from the school roof. Additionally, hydroponic planters connected to the guttering will be set up.
As the project nears completion, pupils will have the opportunity to participate in planting the beds and planters.
