“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” Genesis 1:1
At St Vincent’s, we believe that geography is everywhere, and so the geography curriculum has been planned carefully to inspire children and allow them an opportunity to explore the world around us, in a real-life and engaging way.
Through the curriculum, the children develop transferable skills to support them throughout their whole education and beyond. The children will learn about their local area, as well as other areas in the UK and the wider world. They will compare different areas, both in the UK and around the world. They will also understand what physical and human features there are around the world and through this learning, children will learn about other cultures and lifestyles. As part of our Catholic education, the children will grow an appreciation for our planet and understand that we are all carers of, and can all have an impact on our changing world.
Our Geography Subject Leader is Mrs K. Nangle.
